Pd, tear on the Omnibus: Moriconi leaves the vice presidency of the Budget Commission

Cesare Moriconi , Pd, leaves the vice presidency of the Budget commission due to friction with his own council group. In the sights of the Sardinian regional councilor "the agreement that allowed Omnibus 2 to arrive in the Chamber in violation of every rule of the Council".

"I understand that my position has become irreconcilable with others present in my group and for this reason I resign from the vice presidency of the Budget Committee, without controversy but in any case hoping for a reflection that allows us to clearly distinguish responsibilities ", he stated during his report on the motion of the center-left regarding the lost expenses of last year's Omnibus 1.

For Moriconi it was "a mistake" by the Democratic Party to "disvoke the council commissions in the group leaders that were supposed to examine Omnibus 2, with the aim of allowing shortcuts by way of derogation from the rules. Shortcuts useful only to water down the responsibilities of a junta and a majority in a state of confusion.

The rift within the dem was recomposed during a meeting of the group and peace returned : "If the positions don't coincide, representation is lost, that's why I took a step back, it's not a personal matter but a political one," he said. explained Moriconi.

During the discussion, the majority rejected the motion of the centre-left regarding the non-spending of last year's omnibus 1. But the councilor for programming Giuseppe Fasolino admitted: " There is a problem of speed in the disbursement of resources, we have to change pace and we can no longer afford to approve financial laws in the last useful days , as the Court of Auditors has suggested ».

And it is precisely the lost expenses on the Omnibus 1 that monopolize the debate in the Chamber : «In last year's omnibus law, out of almost one million euros made available to deal with emergencies - the representatives of the opposition recalled -, only a minimal part has actually ended up in circulation in the real economy of Sardinia. Last year Omnibus allocated resources, for 2021 alone, equal to 533 million euros, but of these to date 192 million have actually been committed, 39.7% ».
