Head to head between Giuseppe Meloni and Piero Comandini in the Democratic Party primaries .

Meloni got more votes but Comandini may have obtained more delegates for the regional assembly, just enough to be regional secretary. The conditional is a must because there are still about 1800 ballots missing. These are the votes of the two sections of Quartu , where the tellers refused to proceed with the counting because many centre-right voters would have turned up at the polls with the aim, they explained, of "polluting" the electoral result .

In total, Giuseppe Meloni took more preferences: 17,154 against 14,451 for Comandini.

This is how the Provinces expressed themselves .

In Oristano Meloni obtained 732 votes against the 1204 of his opponent. In Gallura, Meloni wins hands down with 5980 preferences and Comandini stops at 444; in Nuoro, Meloni reaches 1725 and Comandini stops at 655 votes. Sassari: Meloni 4832 votes, Comandini holds with 4024 votes; in Sulcis-Iglesiente Comandini asserted himself with 1236 and Meloni remained with 878 votes. In Medio Campidano Comandini wins with 1077 votes, Meloni stops at 474. Finally Cagliari: Comandini gets 5811, Meloni 2533.
