Daniel Radcliffe produced a documentary on the story of David Holmes, his stunt double in Harry Potter who was paralyzed during the filming of one of the films.

Holmes, 42, suffered a spinal injury while working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Both will be featured in the HBO documentary The Boy Who Lived.

“Being a stuntman was my calling in life, and being Harry's was the best job in the world,” Holmes wrote on Instagram commenting on the release of the film, which took four years of work.

In the early 2000s he was a young gymnast from Essex when he was chosen to play Radcliffe's double, right from the first chapter of the successful film saga.

In January 2009 an accident during aerobatic tests changed his life "forever". Since then he has been forced to live in a wheelchair.

“This film tells the story of not only my successes in front of the camera, but also the challenges I face every day and my overall attitude towards life,” he said. «In the turbulent world we live in I want to quote Harry: “We are only strong if united, weak if divided”. I only managed to survive thanks to the love and support I was lucky enough to receive."
