In anticipation of the 39th edition, scheduled for August 8th to 16th in and around Berchidda, with the novelty of a first installment from June 19th to 21st, Time in Jazz is warming up its engines and announcing that the 2026 program will be presented in Paris on April 27th.
Artistic director Paolo Fresu will host the event. He will present the festival's program during a press conference, which will be held at 11 a.m. at the Italian Cultural Institute. The press conference, which can be followed live on the Time in Jazz Facebook page and YouTube channel, will also be open to the public. The international setting reflects the spirit of an event that has always been open to dialogue with the world. Representatives of the main institutions that support Time in Jazz will be present at the press conference.
On this occasion, again at the Italian Cultural Institute, a powerful musical reading will be performed at 6:30 pm, reinterpreting and interpreting Emilio Lussu's celebrated book "A Year on the Plateau. In the War We Also Sang Sometimes," one of the most important accounts of the First World War.
The protagonist of one of the most successful projects launched by Insulae Lab, Time in Jazz's cultural and artistic production center, is actor Felice Montervino, who gives voice and substance to the lyrics, while the compositions of pianist Pietro Lussu, the writer's nephew, amplify their evocative power. Music and words thus intertwine in a moving tale, suspended between historical memory, civic engagement, and poetry, conveying the complexity of Emilio Lussu's perspective on war and peace.
