Paola Piras has returned home. The woman, a survivor of the attack in which her son Mirko Farci was killed, left the neuropsychological rehabilitation center of the Mater hospital in Olbia after three months of hospitalization during which she followed a cognitive enhancement program.

For her, who was injured by ex-partner Shahid Masih, it is the beginning of a second life.

The woman is still very much tried, but she had the strength to thank, with a post on social media, the people who gave her a warm and affectionate welcome in Tortolì. "Coming home and having to start getting used to a new reality, made up of shortcomings and pain, was not easy," wrote Paola Piras. "It was equally difficult to reconnect with the others, but whoever stopped to say goodbye gave me such affection that now I'm less afraid." These are the first words that Paola Piras, 52, entrusted to Facebook immediately after returning home.

The murder of Paola Piras' son still runs before everyone's eyes like a horror film. On 11 May last, in the house on the second floor of the building at number 46 in via Monsignor Virgilio, the attacker, in a grip of anger, had inflicted 17 stab wounds on the woman. Her son Mirko had tried to defend her by finding death.

A chilling scenario was presented to the rescuers. The lifeless woman had been rescued and transferred to the hospital. His tormentor had been tracked down after several hours at the end of a gigantic manhunt. (ro. if.)
