Pamela Prati was waiting for this moment. The Sardinian showgirl returns as a protagonist on television with “Ne vedremo delle belle”, starting tomorrow in prime time (9:30 p.m.) on Rai 1. «It's a talent show and a talent show in which there will be everything: singing, dancing, musicals. It's very demanding, but I can't wait for the curtain to rise», explains the showgirl from Ozieri, 66 years old, born Paola Pireddu, intercepted during the rehearsals of the new program created and hosted by Carlo Conti.
According to the format produced by Direzione Intrattenimento Prime Time in collaboration with Endemol Shine Italy, ten icons of the entertainment world will compete for five episodes in two-person challenges that will be judged by the super jury formed by Mara Venier, Christian De Sica and Frank Matano and the other eight stars. In the competition, in addition to Pamela Prati, there will be Valeria Marini, Matilde Brandi, Laura Freddi, Lorenza Mario, Veronica Maya, Angela Melillo, Patrizia Pellegrino, Carmen Russo and Adriana Volpe. Actresses, singers, soubrettes and showgirls much loved by the public who will put themselves on the line in the name of competition and pure entertainment, re-proposing the Saturday night variety show so dear to Italians and the contestants.
More excited or enthusiastic?
"Excited and enthusiastic at the same time, because doing such an important show after so many years of career characterized by so much affection from the public is a privilege. Moreover, with so many women: it will be a beautiful, healthy female competition. We are competing with each other, but we are also friends. There is great mutual respect, there is no envy of any kind nor fear of putting yourself on the line and competing in front of a jury, in the knowledge that we too will be called to vote for the others".
She will have to compete in singing and dancing competitions, musicals, interviews and the surprise challenge: is she ready?
"There are many things that are not in my style, but an artist adapts with her personality: the lights come on and you start to shine, you have fun and make others have fun. That's why we are here. It's no coincidence that I immediately accepted the proposal: Saturday night variety shows are in my DNA. I thank the authors for this wonderful opportunity and first of all Carlo, who is one of the few who loves variety shows, which should never go out of fashion."
Beyond the competition, the program will tell the story of what happens “behind the scenes”: you have done some reality shows, what do you expect?
"I'll start by saying that the atmosphere is wonderful. For example, we're all here now, on break, sipping tea like sisters (a voiceover intervenes, and Pamela comments: "It's Patrizia Pellegrino, she says they all love me!"). The break room, meeting each other, making a racket, there's the confessional part, the director who films us in the cafeteria and while we rehearse, the make-up artist and everyone who works around the production: when it's over, I'll miss it."
Moving on to the competition, a dance and a song that she feels strong in.
«Tango as a dance and as a song one by Mina. I love Italian music a lot, and Mina is immense».
If we say “variety,” what is the first image that comes to mind?
«“Biberon”, when I went down the stairs of the Bagaglino in Rome: we glued all of Italy to the small screen with Gabriella Ferri, Oreste Lionello, Pippo Franco and Leo Gullotta. Those stairs made me dream».
Beyond the experience of almost 40 years of career, what is your added value?
"The joy of waking up and coming here, to rehearse. Loving this job, doing it with sacred monsters is the best, and you have to rejoice in this. Then, when the curtain rises, all you have to do is shine. And think of being a winner."
What Sardinian thing will you bring to “We’ll See Some Beautiful Things”?
"The sun and the strength of the granite, the pride and the hope that my land, which has always supported me, will do so again and enjoy it."
