After having published the EP “Violante, dimmi quello che vuoi”, containing the singles “Violante” and “Di nuovo tu”, and the single “Fragole”, the singer-songwriter from Cagliari Sereno – stage name of Mattia Onnis – continues his totally independent musical project with the song “Paletta”, already released on all digital platforms and produced by Sereno himself and refined together with Marco Blarzino, a Roman producer who also took care of the mix and master.
“Paletta” continues the storytelling of the first EP of the singer-songwriter born in 1992 and addresses Violante's little sister, Sabrina, a child still too young to understand the sentimental dynamics of two adults, but profoundly capable of destroying their mental patterns and superstructures, unknowingly transforming herself into a sort of Cupid for the couple. It is a carefree song, which transmits lightness, good humor and genuineness thanks to its arrangement and tells of how the spontaneity and naivety of the smallest and simplest questions can become deadly weapons to soften hardened hearts, but above all to understand ourselves better and dig deep into our feelings.
In the text there is a constant parallelism or comparison between Paletta (the nickname of Sabrina, mentioned at the beginning of the single by her interlocutor) and Violante, but also between Paletta and Serene himself. The paper cigarette that the musician mentions - already well present in the artwork of the song - is a gift received from Sabrina , an object as simple as it is symbolic, which further reinforces the simplicity of the gestures that are apparently more "trivial" and that, without realizing it, make a breach in our heart like not even a thousand reasonings could do.
The title of the song also draws inspiration from “Secchio” by Pop X, sung and listened to at full volume even with little Sabrina. From here, the nickname that gave life to Mattia's piece was born.

He discovered his love for music at a very young age, around 6 years old, and then started playing rehearsal rooms and local stages from the age of twelve onwards as a drummer. He grew up among pop-punk and indie-rock bands, moving on to hardcore projects and collaborations in other music scenes in his city, before finally embarking on a solo career.
