In Palau, the celebration of International Women's Rights Day will take place tomorrow, Saturday 11 March , at 5 pm, in the Documentation Center of the Territory, with the presentation of the book " A new state body - the Female Police in Italy (1961-1981) ", edited by Viella.

The author of the book is Liliosa Azara , professor of women's history at the Roma Tre University. The presentation, with the author present, which will be followed by a debate, will be moderated by Claudio Inconis.

La Azara is also the author of other publications, including: “The political use of the female body. The Merlin law between nostalgia, moralism and emancipation” (Carocci 2017) and “The senses and modesty. Italy and the revolution of customs (1958-68)” (Donzelli 2018).

The event is organized by the municipal administration and is aimed at " remembering and reflecting on the political, social and economic achievements of the female gender ".

With tomorrow's event "we want to put the emphasis on those" women who have made it or who have contributed to social change, promoting women's emancipation from a perspective of equality and gender equality" .
