“ Beyond the silence: names, faces, and stories of those who never returned.” This is the title of the documentary exhibition , set up by teachers and historical research enthusiasts Dario Frau and Paola Cossu, on the eleven soldiers of Pabillonis who disappeared in the Second World War .
The exhibition can be visited until this evening at the Virginia Matta house from 9 to 12 and from 16 to 18 and tells the story of eleven lives lost for the love of their country and who have neither a tomb in Pabillonis , nor the memory of the community that time risks erasing from the memory of the country.
Thus, this exhibition allows us to remember so as not to forget, as Dario Frau and Paola Cossu, the exhibition's creators, say: "To understand and keep alive the memory and give voice and faces to these men and their stories, who represent an important cross-section of our community. To provide justice and dignity to these soldiers, a research project was undertaken to remember them, their troubled stories during the war, and to reconstruct, to the extent possible, their passing."
The exhibition features panels with biography, historical and personal reconstruction, enriched by unpublished documents and photographs , which allow us to learn about the history of these young soldiers.
