The 26th edition of the national "Gavino Gabriel" competition, promoted and organized by the cultural association "La Corale" in collaboration with the Isili-Mandas Comprehensive Institute, with the support of the Siurgus Donigala municipal administration and the Sardinia Region, concluded with the awards ceremony in Siurgus Donigala. This year's competition attracted impressive attendance: 1,126 young people from across Sardinia took to the stage for musical and choral performances, confirming the competition's prestige and continued growth. The artistic caliber of the participants in the various categories was exceptional. The judging panel, composed of industry professionals, worked with skill and dedication, awarding twelve overall first prizes.
The top honorees were: Michela Perra, piano, from the Isili-Mandas Comprehensive School in Siurgus Donigala; the Class IA Orchestra of piano, percussion, clarinet, and guitar from the same school; Carlo Pilloni, guitar, from the “La Marmora” Comprehensive School in Monserrato; the Youth Choir of the “Antonietta Chironi” Civic School of Music in Nuoro; Emma Loddo, piano, from the Assemini Comprehensive School; Angela Platino, piano, from the Sinnai Civic School of Music; Loredana Mia Scano, vocals and guitar, from the Comprehensive School No. 4 in Quartu Sant'Elena; Matteo Mattana, Sardinian accordion, from the “Ugo Foscolo” Comprehensive School on Via Stoccolma in Cagliari; the “Medley Latino” Orchestra from the Sestu Comprehensive School; the Percussion Ensemble of the Oristano Comprehensive School (via Marconi); Emanuele Tatti, piano, from the same Oristano school; and the Harp Sextet Ensemble of the "Arpeggiando" association of Cagliari. "This year's initiative again represented an important opportunity to meet, train, and showcase Sardinia's young musical talents," emphasized Felice Cassinelli, president and founder of La Corale.
