More than ten million Italians will be traveling for a holiday or a day trip for Easter and Easter Monday . Despite global uncertainty linked to the war in the Middle East and rising fuel prices , holiday weekend tourism is giving industry operators hope, with high expectations also in Sardinia , where weather forecasts predict good weather and a first, concrete taste of spring .

According to estimates by CNA Turismo e Commercio, overall turnover is around €3 billion . Domestic travelers will be the main focus: according to the Confturismo Confcommercio and SWG Observatory, 84% will remain in Italy, while 9% will choose European destinations and only 7% will opt for more distant destinations. On the road front, a significant increase in traffic is expected along the entire national network. Viabilità Italia expects approximately 60 million vehicles to be in circulation between now and Tuesday, April 7, including short-distance and medium- to long-distance journeys, with possible variations depending on weather conditions. For Easter Sunday, a drop in traffic of around 15% is estimated, with peaks of up to 23% on long-distance routes in the North. A slight decrease is also expected on Easter Monday in the northern regions (-11% compared to a weekday), while short trips for day trips will increase: +10% in Central Italy, +17% in Sardinia , and up to +25% in the South. Finally, a new increase is expected on Tuesday, April 7, with an 11% increase compared to a normal weekday.

The "promise" of the weather is also driving travel on the island . After weeks of uncertainty, Sardinia is preparing for an atypical Easter and Easter Monday, far from the traditional "risk of rain." Conditions will be ideal for spending the holidays outdoors, between tourist resorts, picnics, and barbecues . According to Meteo.it , Easter Sunday will be marked by sunshine and mild temperatures : partly cloudy skies across the entire territory and highs between 19 and 23 degrees, with nighttime temperatures rising. A similar scenario will also be expected on Easter Monday, thanks to a high pressure regime that will guarantee ample sunshine and stable weather: highs between 20 and 24 degrees, lows rising further . This window of good weather, however, could be short-lived. Between April 9 and 10, further deterioration is expected due to the arrival of an Atlantic low , with thunderstorms initially in the north and subsequently extending towards central Italy.
