The Italian Open Outdoor Freediving Championships , organized by FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing, Underwater Activities and Finswimming) have just concluded in Riva del Garda.
Two amazing results were achieved by Davide Carrera , an athlete from the Sinnai Sub Club who, on the first and second day of competitions, achieved world records with a dive to -93 m with fins and a dive to -103 m with a monofin , earning his second WR .
The previous records belonged to Carrera himself, achieved last year at the Italian championships in Riva del Garda.
"Two extraordinary records," says Paolo Granata, freediving instructor at Sub Sinnai, "Carrera consistently manages to outdo himself. Just a few weeks ago, at the "Vertical Blu" in the Bahamas, he set the Italian CWT-BF record with a depth of -117 meters. All these results are extraordinary. They reward Davide's commitment, determination, and class."
