Daniele Orsato is the new head of the national refereeing commission for Serie A and B.
Francesco Massini, deputy vice president of the AIA, made the announcement during the AIA press conference at the FIGC headquarters in Rome.
Orsato, who was in charge of the Serie C governing body for the last year, takes over the position left vacant by Gianluca Rocchi, who suspended himself from the role after being at the centre of the Milan Prosecutor's Office investigation into the refereeing case , and who was filled on an interim basis by Dino Tommasi.
Alongside Orsato, appointed by the AIA National Committee on the recommendation of the new technical director Domenico Messina, is the commission including Luca Banti, Gabriele Gava, Danilo Giannoccaro, Ciro Carbone, and Alessandro Giallatini. Finally, Nicola Giovanni Ayroldi has been appointed as head of the Serie C Referees Commission, while Paolo Dondarini will be the new referee designator for Serie D, replacing Stefano Braschi.
