The result went to the scoresheet with a sensational 40-0 which caused quite a bit of controversy. And now the Sardinian Football Federation wants to deepen.

The match is that of the very young category (14-15 years) between Fanum Orosei and La Caletta, two teams from Nuorese. The premises were not excellent: the guests showed up with just ten players and an average age lower than that of the opponents. In addition, Fanum Orosei had to score at least 35 goals to get the first place in the group and overcome Bono's Lupi Goceano, who had defeated La Caletta the previous week with another striking result, 22-0.

In short, a result that was in the air: the two companies would have asked to make a play-off so as not to rely on goal difference, but apparently it was impossible to change the rules in the race.

What is certain is that now the regional FIGC wants to deepen the subject. “We have to be more attentive to the kids than to the results”, explains the president Gianni Cadoni.

No decision has yet been made: “We are verifying everything that needs to be verified, I heard from La Caletta and I felt very serene. Which comforts me but does not reassure me ”, continues the president of the Sardinian FIGC.

For the future: "The rules must be respected, but eventually you could find exceptions when you understand that there are situations that in some way can hurt those who practice this sport, especially when it comes to kids".
