Oristano is also among the municipalities that have benefited from the distribution of the government fund (total allocation 10 million euros) to support the cities of art and villages particularly affected by the decrease in tourist flows due to the Covid epidemic. 200 thousand euros are on the way thanks to a project drawn up by the offices of the Municipality and the Foundation. But that's not enough. Another 500 thousand euros will be added from the Pnrr, with the entire amount of 700 thousand euros which will be destined for interventions at the Arborense Antiquarium Museum .
«These are two projects which, coordinated with each other, will make it possible to profoundly renew the Antiquarium Arborense, in order to enhance its collections and the history of Oristano - underlines the mayor Massimiliano Sanna -. The most important intervention is the one worth half a million and financed by the call for intervention project proposals for the removal of the physical, cognitive and sensory barriers of museums and public places of culture not belonging to the Ministry of Culture”.
The paper bears the signature of the Foundation and the company Rete Gaia, a company with particular experience in consultancy and planning for local and sustainable development. "We aim - underlines the president of the Oristano Foundation Francesco Deriu - to renew the museum spaces, to improve the function of the museum as an important node of the cultural system of the city of Oristano and the territory".
«All the resources - points out the deputy mayor and councilor for culture Luca Faedda - will be used to enhance and promote the Arborense Antiquarium which has already been included in the National Museum System since last year, confirming the importance of its history. Here are kept several of the most important historical-artistic assets of the city such as paintings, sculptures, jewels, glazed vases and burial objects of great artistic value».
