Last night, the Dyaphrama Cultural Photographic Association of Oristano hosted Egidio Trainito, an internationally renowned nature photographer and popularizer, for the presentation of the book "Mare. Viaggio intorno alla Sardegna – A Journey Around the Sardinian Sea," published by Carlo Delfino Editore. The headquarters at Via della Conciliazione 58 welcomed a large and attentive crowd, a sign of growing interest in nature photography and the promotion of Sardinia's marine heritage.

At the heart of the evening was a book that is simultaneously a visual atlas, a travel diary, and a manifesto for environmental awareness. Through his photographs, Trainito led the audience on a journey along the island's coasts, revealing the landscapes, shapes, colors, and animal species that make Sardinia's marine ecosystem unique. This journey went far beyond simple nature documentation, inviting us to view the sea as a living, ever-changing, yet fragile heritage, exposed to the pressures of an era still struggling to come to terms with its impact on the environment. "It was an extraordinary evening," said Cesello Putzu, president of Dyaphrama , at the conclusion of the event. " Nature photography, when done with this depth, becomes a powerful tool for raising awareness. It's not archive slides; it's urgent. And we believe that a region like Sardinia deserves to be described with this perspective ."

Egidio Trainito, a leading figure in international scientific and photographic communication, captivated the audience throughout the evening. Throughout his career, he has authored publications and reportages that have become benchmarks for scholars, enthusiasts, and nature photographers worldwide, significantly contributing to the understanding and appreciation of the Mediterranean marine environment. The event was part of Dyaphrama's broader cultural program, which for years has brought meetings, exhibitions, and events dedicated to fine art photography to Oristano, with a particular focus on the Sardinian region and photography as a tool for narrating and protecting the island's natural and cultural heritage.
