No surprises from the Provincial building on Via Carboni, where before noon, the lists competing in the second-level provincial elections scheduled for Monday, September 29th were deposited and made official. Until this morning, representatives of political parties, movements, and even civic administrators were working on finalizing the candidacies and completing the technical procedures.

This was no easy task, given that the candidates needed to be carefully calibrated based on the electoral weight of the municipalities, while also safeguarding the representation of smaller towns. However, a balanced territorial presence among cities and historic regions such as Terralbese, Marmilla, Guilcier, Planargia, Barigadu, Montiferru, Sinis, and upper and lower Campidano appears to have been ensured. The names of the two mayors who will compete for the presidency of the Province have already been firmly established: the mayor of Villaurbana, Paolo Pireddu, for the center-right, and the mayor of Cabras, Andrea Abis, for the center-left.

Both will be supported by two mixed lists formed by experienced party members and area administrators. For the center-left, exactly 19 candidates will run. The first list is called "Democratic Participation" for the Province of Oristano and will consist of Democratic Party representatives and administrators or those nominated by presidential candidate Andrea Abis. The head of the list is Cabras councilor Laura Celletti. The second, "We Are - Province of Oristano," includes representatives of all the other political forces that form the coalition (5 Star Movement, Avs, Sinistra Futura, Orizzonte Comune, Progressisti). It is headed by Bosa city councilor Angelo Masala.

The center-right also has two lists supporting presidential candidate Paolo Pireddu, for a total of 16 candidates. He is supported by Brothers of Italy, Forza Italia, UDC, Lega, Sardegna 2020, and the Sardinian Action Party. The "Provincia Provincia" list is led by Oristano city councilor Giuliano Uras, while the other, "Administrators for the Territory," is led by Bosa city councilor Maurizio Blandino.
