What could be more fitting to close what is thus far the largest graffiti expo on the island than with the sounds of hip hop? On Sunday the 11th , at the Foro Boario in Oristano , " Hope Around. New York Graffiti " will conclude, an exhibition of forty-two works by some of the most important American writers, curated by Fabiola Naldi and promoted in the latest edition of the Dromos festival. Starting at 7 pm , the presentation of the book " Presente Continuo " by the artist Dumbo (Ivano Atzori) will take place, followed by a concert by Italian hip hop icon DJ Gruff and musical selections officiated by Padrino .

The exhibition, extended beyond its scheduled date, has featured various personalities throughout its remaining months, including meetings, concerts, and presentations. The works , coming from the private collection of Pietro Molinas Balata , are also on public display for the first time , demonstrating the impact graffiti art has had on both culture and urban spaces, especially at its height of creative energy. The evening of Saturday the 10th will therefore feature the final events prior to the exhibition, promoted by the Centro Italo Arabo as part of " Muros de Arte ," before the grand closing the following day.

On Sunday at 7:00 p.m. , with free admission, the public will be introduced to the book "Presente Continuo ," created last year by Ivano Atzori, aka Dumbo, a multifaceted graffiti artist active since the early 1990s and part of the movement that took the art form from the countercultural underground to broader shores. Photos and texts thus delve into Atzori's personal journey and creative identity, with whom curator Davide Giannella will be in conversation at the Forum.

The music starts at 9pm , with the already sold-out live performance by DJ Gruff : aka Sandro Orrù, the rapper, producer, master of beats and scratches and finally DJ is one of the pioneers of the old guard of Italian rap , having played for Casinio Royale, Radical Stuff and Isola Posse All Stars but above all founder of Sangue Misto , authors of the masterpiece of the genre " SxM " (1994). In a new vision that crosses roots hip hop and jazz hues, which began with the contribution of trombonist Gianluca Petrella in 2014, he has released the albums "August 11th" (2019, with Rayza), "Lcdb" (2020, with Antonio Tarantino) and "Passi" (same year, with Petrella), most recently releasing the extended play "Cinematographicus" last year.

Closing out a concert that's already a crowd-pleasing success, there couldn't be anyone else but another hip-hop powerhouse, this time Sardinian: Padrino , a veteran of the Sassari scene and member of Isulana Familia, will be at the decks with a selection conceived as a continuous flow, rooted in the event's cultural references. A final salute, then, to "Hope Around," organized by the Dromos association and the Municipality , with the support of the Region , the Ministry of Culture , and the Fondazione Sardegna .
