A new initiative in Sardinia promoting organic agricultural production. Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., in the "Magangiosa" area of Sestu, the Southern Sardinia BioDistretto and the Sulcis Archipelago (which bring together over 50 organic farms), agricultural and cooperative organizations (Cia, Copragri, Confagricoltura, LegaCoop, Agci, ConfCooperative), Legambiente, Slow Food, and other tourism and cultural sector operators and energy communities will form the Bio Ho.re.ca Network, which includes hotels, accommodations, agritourism businesses, restaurants, and caterers that use organic products on their menus. The Bio Agri-Multifunzionalità Network also includes direct-sale farms, agritourism businesses, educational farms, and social farms. The aim is to promote organic farming and sustainable local activities, in close contact with consumers, in connection with short supply chains and healthy, traceable food.
The establishment of the two Networks, part of the BIO Organic Innovative Ovunque Project, funded by the Sardinia Region, benefits from the collaboration and support of the Laore Sardegna Regional Agency and is the result of five local meetings involving approximately 30 organic and converting businesses. These meetings discussed and developed a Charter of Intent for the Catering Network and the Agri-Multifunctionality Network. These will be approved upon their establishment and are available on the website (www.biodistrettosudsardegna.it). Participation is open to all interested businesses and associations.
