Giuliana Altea leaves the presidency of the Nivola Foundation after two terms. Under her leadership, the Foundation and the Orani Museum have experienced a period of strong growth, which has led them to stand out as one of the most dynamic cultural centers in Sardinia and a point of reference for the international artistic community.

Virtuous path
"It is a source of great satisfaction for me to have been able to contribute to the development of a museum reality that is unique in many ways, which, in the spirit of Costantino Nivola, combines attachment to its roots and international projection", says Altea. "I leave with the confidence of having provided the Museum and the Foundation with solid foundations that will allow them to consolidate and further improve the results obtained so far". Professor of Contemporary Art History at the University of Sassari, major expert on twentieth-century Sardinian art, scholar of reference for Costantino Nivola, on whom she published the main study together with Antonella Camarda (Nivola. The synthesis of the arts, Ilisso), Giuliana Altea became president of the Foundation in 2015, when the institution, in serious crisis, was close to closing. In collaboration with the directors Antonella Camarda (from 2015 to 2021) and Luca Cheri (from 2021) she led it to recover and find a new cultural identity.
