Nicola Riva, Gigi's son, revealed it in recent days in an interview with Radiolina: "Dad was not only an idol for the Sardinians but was appreciated throughout Italy". And to make it clear he added: "When I went to the cemetery to visit Dad I almost always found the scarf of the team that would face Cagliari that week".

It happened in the months following the death of the bomber. And it still happens: in the cemetery of Bonaria, on the railing in front of the tomb of the Hombre Vertical, the scarves of Como and Roma were tied, the two teams against which the rossoblù played at home in this first part of Serie A.

The place where the bomber rests has become a place of pilgrimage for ultras of teams from all over Italy.

«A scarf from Como and Roma among many scarves from our beloved Cagliari», Nicola now writes, « thank you: long live football with these values and this spirit, these gestures help the game of football to save itself and to still give emotions».
