Opera from Cagliari, a group of strangers and the cast of Mefistofele at the table
“L'Operacena con il maestro” was presented, a social experiment that launches the new format for promoting the TheatreA table set in the heart of the foyer and a group of guests who responded to a curious invitation that appeared on social media . At the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari " The Operacena with the maestro " was staged last night, «a social experiment which saw - among the protagonists - people who do not know each other, completely different, who found themselves sharing a moment of conviviality in the name of opera and great music", explains the creator of the project Giorgio Pitzianti . There were many artistic moments that punctuated the evening. Also present was the superintendent Nicola Colabianchi , who contributed, together with some soloists from the opera of Mefistofele , to involve the guests in the fascinating masterpiece by Arrigo Boito who returns to Cagliari after 62 years. Surprisingly, among the guests , the artists of the first cast Rafał Siwek in the role of Mephistopheles, Marco Berti who plays Faust and Marta Mari who will play Margherita with the second cast. Accompanied by the pianist, the maestro Francesco Massimi , they provided truly evocative and touching moments.
The name of the initiative is a play on words «which exploits the most common and popular “apericena”. The format represents a unique modality at a national level . It is unexpected, unpredictable, it can be anywhere and with anyone", explains Pitzianti. «It was launched sensationally – he continues – with a social experiment on a particular and risky day, like that of the strike. The intent was to give greater visibility to both the workers who demonstrated, almost creating an apparent scandal, and - at the same time - to highlight the immense work behind the productions and performances, thus also addressing many prejudices and problems that revolve around it and which do not allow it to conquer new generations and new segments of the public. This was the opportunity to tell the stories of ordinary people in the light of the work but not only: the format was also created to give voice to projects with charitable and social purposes as happened with the presence of Sister Silvia Carboni and a representative "of your clan" - as you defined it - who are carrying out the "BorgoTreMani" project for the creation of a new center for the reception and support of young people with frailty". The first guests gathered with her in the foyer , selected partly through social media but also through strategic profiling : "why should we choose you?" we could read in the Theatre's Instagram stories, in the comments the most disparate and amusing responses from the users involved in the initiative.
The evening was inaugurated by a DJ set with a welcome aperitif, and then off to dinner, signed by chef Francesco Zucca who enthusiastically welcomed the initiative of the experiment and also largely supported it financially, preparing local dishes and making his staff available. The Foundation, for its part, contributed 700 euros to encourage the social experiment and the launch of the format, in which the theatre's lighting technicians, plant engineers and sound engineers also participated.
