Opera and ballet meet in “Giselle around Le villi”
The work that opens the Sassari season proposed by the Marialisa de Carolis organization has been presented

“With Le villi Puccini did something extraordinary: he was the first to include dance pieces and a narrator in an opera,” explained Alberto Gazale, who does three things: not only artistic director, but also director and baritone (he plays Guglielmo Wulf). The opera that will open the season organized by the Marlaisa de Carolis organization was presented at the Circolo Sassarese: “Giselle around Le villi” will be performed on May 23 and 25 at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari.
The project co-produced with the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, brings together Le Villi by Giacomo Puccini and Giselle by A. Charles Adam. Sergio Oliva and Silvano Corsi sign the adaptation and transcriptions , Beatrice Venezi will conduct the de Carolis orchestra . The cast also includes Cataldo Russo , in the part of the Man of Real Life.
The presentation was also attended by the Moscow mezzo-soprano Anastasia Boldyreva (Anna) and tenor Carlo Ventre in the role of Roberto.
Maestro Oliva then performed on the piano one of the original pieces of the opera on stage, composed by him as a link between two important moments. The performance was accompanied by a short pas de deux interpreted by the two solo dancers of the cast: Corinne De Bock and Maxime Mathieu Quiroga .
