Among the many international stars of the program prepared by the Marialisa de Carolis organization there are several Sardinian artists, without forgetting the choir, orchestra and local workers, because all the titles are productions of the Sassari organization. After the summer previews (great success for the "Pagliacci" in Piazza d'Italia) the opera season offers a concert and five operas for the traditional autumn section.

It starts at the Comunale di Sassari on Saturday 23 September at 8.30pm with the symphony concert which will feature the Sassari soprano Francesca Sassu and the conductor Michelangelo Mazza . The first opera will be performed on October 13th (and a repeat on the 15th): “Macbeth” by Giuseppe Verdi with baritone Franco Vassallo in the eponymous role.

“The barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini will propose Matteo Falcier and Marco Solinas on 3, 5 and 7 November. Double title on 16 and 18 November: “La voix humaine” by Francis Poulenc and “Matrimonial Agency” by Roberto Hazon, with soprano Paoletta Marrocu .

Closing again with Verdi: “Nabucco” will be staged on 8, 10 and 12 December and will see another Sardinian as the protagonist: Marco Caria . The staging is curated together with the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari. Of note is the debut of three Sardinian singers: Marco Solinas, Tiziano Rosati and Giansilvio Pinna.

On the occasion of the shows, the Municipality of Sassari will open the car parks under the theatre: 400 parking spaces. A preview: next summer the opera will return to the square, this time with "Otello" by Giuseppe Verdi.
