In the first weekend of May, almost 80 municipalities , from the north to the south of the island , will open their doors to visitors to learn about the cultural and archaeological sites of the territories, with the 28th edition of Open Monuments .

« 11 new municipalities that join the project network , between north and south of Sardinia, such as Arzachena or Nurachi, Santa Teresa Gallura or Nuxis, to name a few – explains Massimiliano Messina, president of the Imago Mundi OdV association -. An edition that will be divided into two tranches, from the first weekend of May until 2 June, and then returning in October, with closing in Cagliari and stops on the Peninsula". Among the new entries is the municipality of Nuxis, and the mayor Romeo Ghilleri invites you to visit the archaeological sites of the Sulcis town.

The presentation of the initiative marked the first public outing of the new regional councilor for Public Education and Culture Ilaria Portas : «Open Monuments allows you to have an overall vision of Sardinia's monument sites, even the lesser known ones, with the involvement of students from schools on the island".
