While the Open Bnl of San Gregorio di Catania has started, the Fitp has made official the rankings of the men's and women's circuit that will decide the nineteen male and female tennis players who will participate in the Prequalifications of the Internazionali Bnl d'Italia scheduled for May at the Foro Italico in Rome.
Rankings that, currently, take into account ten tournaments played (but only the best eight results for each participant are valid), the last of which at Tc Cagliari.
In the men's category, Stefano Baldoni, the former representative of the Monte Urpinu club who won the stage in Trentino Alto Adige, leads the way.
Behind him, Gianluca Di Nicola (winner in the Marche), Daniel Bagnolini (winner in Abruzzo), Alberto Bronzetti (the best in Calabria), Gabriele Noce (his title in Puglia), Pietro Marino (who won the tournament in Cagliari), Tommaso Gabrieli (winner in Umbria), Manuel Mazza (first in Campania), Alessandro Ingarao (finalist in Monte Urpinu) and Giovanni Calvano (last year wearing the Tc Alghero jersey, he won in Veneto) closed the Top 10.
Eleventh place for Luca Potenza (winner in Lombardy), ahead of Filippo Alberti, Riccardo Mascarini, Roberto Miceli, Noah Perfetti, Antonio Massara, Gianluca Bellezza Quater, Fabrizio Ornago and Stefano D'Agostino.
The only Sardinian tennis player in the rankings is Marco Dessì, 48th thanks to his quarter-final in the Calabrese tournament.
In the women's category, two tennis players dominate by far: Anastasia Grymalska (winner of the tournaments in Abruzzo, Puglia, Marche, Calabria and Umbria) and Cristiana Ferrando (winner in Trentino Alto Adige, Lombardy and Veneto). Behind them is a large group that jostles, led by Isabella Serban, Linda Salvi and Federica Di Sarra.
In sixth place is Alessandra Mazzola, a Romagnola registered with Tc Cagliari, who won the entire stake in Monte Urpinu.
Behind her, Sofia Rocchetti, winner in Campania. Closing the Top Ten are Francesca De Matteo, Costanza Traversi and Marta Lombardini.
Behind them, still in a useful position for qualification, Agnese Gentili, Carolina Gasparini, Sara Milanese, Chiara Fornasieri, Ester Ivaldo, Anastasia Piangerelli, Giorgia Pinto, Caterina Odorizzi and Beatrice Veltri.
Also in the rankings are two Sardinian tennis players, the Dessolis sisters, both members of Tc Cagliari: Barbara is 26th (thanks to the semi-final achieved in Trentino Alto Adige), while Marcella is 32nd (quarter-final in the home tournament).
