The story of an ancient rite, while keeping the focus on those who lived and brought it to life over time: this is " Rondò Final ," the award-winning film by Gaetano Crivaro , Margherita Pisano , and Felice D'Agostino that recounts one hundred years of celebrations for Sant'Efisio , assembled from films, tapes, period photos, and other rarities. And just a few days before the heartfelt anniversary, the feature film will be screened on Sunday the 19th at the Cineteatro Alkestis , at 7 p.m. at Via Loru 31 .
A true fifty-one-minute visual journey through the sacred festival, the production L'Ambulante was officially released in 2021 , passing through the curated selections of festivals such as Visions du Réel (world premiere), Festival dei Popoli (an Italian premiere), Rencontres du nouveau cinema , Laceno d'oro and numerous others, such as the Isreal Festival in Nuoro and Visioni parallele in Sassari. It then won the award for best film at the 2023 edition of the Festival du cinema cooperatiu in Barcelona.
Defined by the authors themselves as a work of "obsessive research" in the editing – with even the contribution of an editing team composed of Luca Carboni , Alberto Diana , Arturo Lavorato , Margherita Riva and Vittoria Soddu , as well as Crivaro, Pisano and D'Agostino themselves – "Rondò Final" is the fruit of a process that collects and passes through the collective memory , focusing on glances, images and hidden meanings, in a hypnotic experience that reflects on the eternal return , or "rondò", of ritual traditions and the collective life that develops around them.
Stefano Grosso, responsible for the sound mix, Pierluisa Castiglione and Sacko Soulemain for the voiceovers, and Caterina Gueli and Tom Rodgers for the translations, participated in the work. The texts used for the narration come from " I sogni della città bianca " by Sergio Atzeni and " I dannati della terra " by Frantz Fanon . Natalino Virdis , Luca Portas , and Martina Mulas , from the Cineteca Sarda , supported the research in a project that received the support of Società Umanitaria and Fondazione Sardegna , with the participation of Virages and the contribution of the Region .
