In Sardinia increasingly stressed at work.
This is confirmed by the data collected by the online psychology service Unobravo as part of the analysis conducted to investigate the risk of burnout in Italy and psychological distress related to work: in 2023 , the number of people in Sardinia who experienced psychological distress on the work front increased of 133.9% compared to the previous year and the trend is also being confirmed for this year: in the first four months of 2024, in fact, growth of 96.2% emerges compared to the same period of 2023 , with over a quarter (27%) of those interviewed who find themselves facing work-related problems and seeking psychological support.
The data collected by Unobravo show how at a provincial level the majority of those who declare having psychological problems related to the work sphere are concentrated in the provinces of Cagliari (46.7%) and Sassari (31.4%). However, the percentages for the provinces of Nuoro (12.5%) and Oristano (9.4%) were reduced.
On the island , it is mainly women who seek psychological support for work-related problems , who alone represent 67.3% of the total, while the remaining 32.7% is made up of men. The data is aligned with the national average (66.3% against 33.7%), as is the evidence relating to the age groups. Even in Sardinia, those who are most affected are those who are in the first phase of their professional career : 57.4% are between 25 and 34 years old, while 27.3% are in the range from 35 to 44 years. The 45-60, 18-24 and over 60 age groups were all below 9%.
«The situation in Sardinia shows a worrying picture, which also confirms the national trend . More and more people complain of psychological discomfort related to work, which, if left untreated, can lead to physical symptoms and serious conditions that negatively impact and interfere with people's lives, such as burnout syndrome - explains Doctor Valeria Fiorenza Perris, Psychotherapist and Clinical Director of Unobravo – The syndrome develops in four phases: enthusiasm and unrealistic expectations, stagnation, frustration and apathy. Recognizing them as soon as possible is essential to request, in time and before the syndrome has a serious impact on one's life, the intervention and support of a psychologist or psychotherapist, figures who can help re-establish a balance between private life and the professional one."
