Sardinia remains outside, once again, the European Parliament, paying for the territorial imbalance compared to Sicily in the Islands constituency, which elects eight parliamentarians.

Giorgia Meloni is the queen of preferences on the island. The Prime Minister and FdI leader won 61,673 .

Behind her is the Sardinian with the most votes, Angela Quaquero of the Democratic Party who, with 40,864 votes, "doubled" Elly Schlein with 20,573 . The Dem representative, however, does not obtain a seat in the European Parliament because there are three Sicilian candidates in front of her. Another Sardinian who received a lot of votes is Cinzia Pilo (M5s), who obtained 27,010 preferences in Sardinia and almost 40 thousand in the whole constituency, but ended up behind Giuseppe Antoci, the only five-star member elected. Not even Salvatore Deidda (FdI) can make it, 25,502 votes but three Sicilian candidates ahead of him.

Ilaria Salis in Sardinia obtained 23,558 preferences, exceeding General Vannacci of the League by more than 8 thousand . The teacher of Sardinian origins under house arrest in Budapest is certainly elected (we need to see in which constituency), but it would be a stretch in her case to talk about a Sardinian MEP in Brussels.

Michele Cossa, candidate with Forza Italia, obtained 20,647 preferences , followed by Matteo Porcu (M5s) with 16,565, Maddalena Calia (FI) with 13,263 . Francesco Muscau (Avs) obtained 9,521 preferences, Gianni Fresu (Peace, Land and Dignity) 4,990, the Northern League member Lina Lunesu stopped at 3,750. On the Carroccio front , Roberto Vannacci won the vote of 15,162 Sardinians and lost the challenge on the island with Ilaria Salis . As for the other national leaders, Matteo Renzi obtained 4,375 votes, Carlo Calenda 1,607 .
