An insight into some of the new archaeological interventions recently carried out in the Municipalities of Marmilla, an area rich in monuments which have often marked the history of Sardinian archaeology. Gianfranca Salis, coordinator of the functional area of the Archaeological Heritage of the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Cagliari, outlined its outlines during the fourth appointment of the cycle of conferences organized by the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation, within its training course of the staff.

The evening is scheduled for Friday 24 February, starting at 5.15 pm, at the Giovanni Lilliu Cultural Heritage Communication and Promotion Center in Barumini.

The expert will guide the listeners on a journey of in-depth analysis starting from the 'Bruncu Maduli' of Gesturi which represents a monument of the initial phases of the Nuragic civilization, up to the nuraghe 'Genna Maria' of Villanovaforru which, instead, recounts the more advanced moments. These monuments, as the exponent of the Superintendence points out, need constant restoration and interventions which, even if they were born at times as ordinary maintenance, help to bring out new data useful for the reconstruction of the Sardinian Bronze and Iron Ages. During the appointment it will be possible to deepen the aspects of the new studies, also looking at other nuraghes of the Marmilla that have been occupied and frequented by man up to the historic age, to attest how these buildings have always been part of the history of man in Sardinia.

However, the meeting on Friday is also open to everyone's participation to continue facing moments of discussion on the importance of protecting, as well as preserving and promoting, the beauties of Sardinian history.

Next, next Monday 13 March (from 5.15 pm) Giovanni Serreli will bring the conference entitled: "The Barony of Las Plassas in the modern age" to the Giovanni Lilliu Center.
