«We are proud to represent Sardinia in Kenya». A delegation from the Pro loco of Ollolai reached the African country and willingly accepted the hospitality of the governor of Lamu county to promote Barbagia.

After hosting a Kenyan representation in Ollolai last summer for the Donkey Palio, the town of Ospitone continues its promotional work in Kenya, where its councilor Mirko Daga also took part in a race reserved for donkeys. «There is great satisfaction from this experience - explains Alessandro Daga, president of the tourist association -. Our Donkey Palio is now among the best known, today it represents a moment of meeting with the Lamu community."

In fact, among the many international guests who have arrived in the Barbagia center in recent years, there is also Issa Timamy, governor of Lamu. A fruitful meeting last July, when the senior official had the opportunity to appreciate the hospitality and traditions of the Nuorese town. This is why the Pro loco Ollolaese is taking part in the Lamu Island Cultural Festival these days. «Our presence in Lamu is a source of great enthusiasm - observes Pierpaolo Soro, president of the Ollolai donkey Palio association -. The exchange between cultures is always a positive thing, it enriches. We come to Lamu to bring our testimony of Sardinia and bring home many ideas to treasure."
