The artists who will win the 2024 Mario Cervo Prize have been revealed. In its tenth edition, the final evening of the event, a point of reference for Sardinian productions and artists, will be held in Olbia on Tuesday 30 July, at the Mario Cervo Park, starting at 9.00 pm . This is the list of selected records: “Spira” (Tanca Records by Daniela Pes, “Quattro” (Tuk Music) by Nanni Gaias, “Sola” (S'ardmusic) by Stefania Secci Rosa, “Raixe” (S'ardmusic) by Matteo Leone and finally “Pathei Màthos” (Subsound Records) by Sarram aka Valerio Marras The Disco Storico Award goes to the doyen of Sardinian music, the master of launeddas Luigi Lai for the album “Luigi Lai” contained in the box set “Sardegna, yesterday…tomorrow” from 1986.

«This year, of particular importance for us as it is the tenth edition of the Recording Award, we have chosen to pay homage to a great master of music in Sardinia, Luigi Lai, and with him an archaic and exceptionally representative instrument of the Sardinian artistic-musical tradition , the launeddas, a true heritage of humanity, although little present in record productions - say Velia and Ottavio Cervo - As regards the Award for new productions, the works produced and selected are of a high level, in some cases with also positive in national and international music circuits. This makes us even more proud and proud to continue promoting the traditions of our island."

The awards evening, presented by Giacomo Serreli, is dedicated to Tommy Rossi, who recently passed away. «Coordinator of the Recording Award for nine editions and collaborator of the Archive in numerous projects – the comment of the Cervo family – leaves an unfillable void». The jury was made up of Giacomo Serreli together with Marco Mulas (ISRE scientific director), the singer and musician Sophia Murgia (Solosophia), the journalist Giancarlo Palermo, the music producer Andrea Brigaglia and the archive associate Fabrizio Alias (#wewereyoung) The awarded artists will be honored with a sculpture by the artist Wenceslao Mascia.
