With two days to go before the deadline to complete the application for registration in the Eccellenza championship, including the payment of fees and outstanding debts owed to several former members, as well as the submission of a document certifying the availability of an approved playing facility, Olbia Calcio has been summoned by lawyer Mauro Cavalli, who is representing the positions of several players.

The lawyer summarizes in an official statement the situation that could jeopardize the Gallura club's ability to participate in the top regional soccer tournament. "In light of the LND's Official Statement No. 1 for the 2026/2027 season, published on July 1st and binding on all Regional Committees, significant critical issues have emerged regarding the position of Olbia Calcio 1905 SRL," Cavalli begins.

"The club, in fact, appears to have defaulted on the final decisions issued on May 31, 2026, by the Arbitration Panel regarding the player Lorenzo De Grazia, having also failed to pay the relevant INPS withholdings. Added to this is a significant debt exposure to other players, totaling more than €100,000. Even in the unlikely event of a future registration in the Eccellenza championship," the lawyer continues, "the club's financial situation appears compromised. Despite the de facto administrator's repeated promises, the club appears unable to guarantee the repayment of past debts or meet its financial commitments for the 2026/2027 season."

Regarding De Grazia, who played for Olbia two years ago, Cavalli emphasized: "To date, several members with two-year contracts have not received their salaries for over five months, a circumstance that confirms two possibilities: either the club is unwilling to pay, or it doesn't have the necessary resources. It also remains unclear why, if there were indeed recorded income, it wasn't used to pay members, employees, and professional service providers."

The lawyer's conclusions are bitter, certifying well-known difficulties, with Olbia Calcio having changed hands twice in the last three years, from Alessandro Marino to SwissPro and from SwissPro to Prosoccer, and losing two league titles, sliding from Serie C to Eccellenza, with the club's debt exposure simultaneously worsening. "In light of this situation, the city of Olbia is called upon to acknowledge a now evident reality: the club is in an irreversible management and financial coma. For the sake of the fans and the city's economic fabric," Cavalli concludes, "it seems increasingly necessary to end the corporate agony and start from scratch, entrusting the city's footballing future to truly competent and capable people."

No response from Olbia, who meanwhile, as regards players from last season, also say goodbye to Aniello Viscovo: the Neapolitan goalkeeper will play in the Eccellenza league with Ars et Labor Ferrara (the new Spal).
