Red Valley announces Macklemore. For the only Italian date of his world tour, the American rapper and songwriter, with 13.2 billion total streams with hits such as "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us", chose Olbia, where he will perform in first evening of the festival, scheduled from 14 to 17 August.
The announcement comes during the press conference featuring the patron of the event Luca Usai, the mayor of Olbia Settimo Nizzi and the municipal councilor for Tourism Marco Balata, plus Massimo Putzu, director of Aspo who will have an important role in the organization of the flows of people heading to the Olbia Arena.
«Last year there were 105 thousand: we would be satisfied with equaling that result», underlines Usai. «I believe that the overall level this year is higher than that of last year: in four days we concentrate artists such as Macklemore, Pezzali, Annalisa and Club Dogo, and also Coez & Frah Quintale, Gazzelle, Irama, Salmo and Geolier», adds Usai, who is preparing to make the latest headliners official. «There will be two DJs, who will be revealed in the next few weeks together with the latest supporting artists», he limits himself to saying for the moment.
The administration is very satisfied. «We are seriously thinking of acquiring an area permanently where this and other events can be held without problems», intervenes Nizzi. Balata echoes him: «For the third year in a row here, Red Valley is the best answer to those who wonder if Olbia is really a city full of problems, as some in the press or in the city council claim. Olbia was chosen because it is welcoming, safe and clean, otherwise an event like this, which gives us international visibility, could not take place."
