The fourth edition of the Ogus de Monti literary prize ended yesterday with the award ceremony and mention of the best stories in Piazza Municipio in Monastir.

"We are very happy with the work done by the jury, this year the stories were all very beautiful - says Micaela Mocci, president of the organizing association DO.MO.S Donne di Monastir per il Sociale - we are also happy with the fact that more and more men are participating as authors, two of them were also among the winners of this edition".

Over the months , a total of 53 stories arrived, which addressed very current issues such as femicide: "They are all very important issues: acceptance, violence, war. The story that we as an association awarded tells of a person who loses his life during a stomach reduction operation to lose weight" continues Mocci.

The first prize went to a story set in modern-day Palestine: the author Stefano Cortis narrates the adventures of Amir, a child forced to flee his city because of the bombings.

Lots of new things for 2025 : «Next year we will have an exceptional jury: the president will be Vanessa Roggeri, joined by Antonio Boggio, Luca Masala, Monica Sanna and Francesca Zedda. We also thought about growing a little and trying a new adventure: our prize will become national. The latest news is that this year the awarded and mentioned stories will not only be published in paper version, but also in e-book format» concludes Mocci.

With the definition of the jury, DO.MO.S is ready to work on the fifth edition of the Award which includes, in the coming months, public events leading up to the 2025 festival.
