Pino Murgia is the new coach of Taranto.

Sixty years old, from Tortolì in Ogliastra, with a long career spent between Italy and abroad, he was called to the bedside of the Apulian club for an impossible mission: to save the rossoblù team , last in the Serie C group C standings with just three points and 9 points away from the playout zone.

Murgia will lead the first training session in the afternoon. Making his debut on the bench of an Italian professional team, he chose to leave Russia, and precisely Soci, where he was responsible for the Torino Academy.

"The experience with the Granata was very rewarding," says Murgia, "but I preferred to take the opportunity to return to my country . I missed Italy and especially the weekly preparation for the matches."

After hanging up his boots, he was an excellent striker, Murgia began his coaching career becoming a true globetrotter. He coached many youth teams and then lived experiences in Macedonia, Iraq, Malta and Indonesia.
