"Some might say" that would have lasted from Christmas to Boxing Day. When Liam and Noel Gallagher announced the reunion of Oasis two years ago, few thought the fearsome Britpop brothers would make it to their final concert safe and sound. Instead, surprise: the 2025 tour of the Manchester band, an icon of the '90s that broke up in 2009 amid insults, brawls, and smashed guitars, has gone smoothly across four continents. And what seemed like a fragile truce, a commercial ploy to drum up cash, has transformed into something much more solid. So much so that now it's starting again, and more importantly, it's also coming to Italy: on July 29 and 30, 2027, Liam and Noel will be at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. After the rumors, it's now official, and it's all beautiful. At least for the lucky ones who will get to sing "Wonderwall" under the golden stars of the capital.
The mechanism
The race to snag a ticket will be anything but simple. And this time, the process has been made even more challenging to avoid the same scenes as last time, with endless virtual lines and prices that magically increase. No free-for-all rushing the site on sale day: there will be a pre-selection, a system designed to better manage "the extremely high expected demand" and try to keep scalpers at bay. For the record: Radiohead already tried this last year but failed to avoid controversy, with hundreds of suspicious tickets still appearing on resale sites. The mechanism introduces another element of uncertainty: you have to be chosen first. And even being chosen doesn't mean you have a ticket in your pocket.
The recording
The first thing to do, then, is to register on the official Oasis website by 5 PM tomorrow, Thursday, September 17th, entering your details and answering a question about the band: which album came out in 1995? If you're a fan, you know it well; otherwise, for those with a lapse in memory, there's plenty of time to do a quick online search. You can select up to three cities, in strict order of preference: in addition to the two dates in Rome, there will be 36 more in Glasgow, the inevitable Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Boston, Las Vegas, Slane Castle in Ireland, and Knebworth House in England.
The selection
Each user can register only once: "Duplicate, multiple, fraudulent, or automated registrations will be disqualified." Once this step is complete, all that's left to do is wait: there will be a random selection, and those chosen will receive an email with a unique code and a time slot to access the actual sale on the Ticketmaster platform. The codes will be sent—watch out for spam—between September 24th and 27th, while the purchasing sessions will take place between Friday, September 25th and Sunday, September 27th.
The code
And here's where the second phase begins. With the code, you'll need to log into Ticketmaster, where you'll need an account, using the same email address you used when registering. Then, try to purchase available tickets: you can buy up to four, and only for one of the cities on the tour. Try, of course, because the code doesn't guarantee a purchase: it only gives you access to the sale, while seats will still be assigned based on availability. In short, you first have to win a small lottery and then be quick enough to take home the prize. And in case you're wondering, no: there's no general sale open to everyone. If all goes well, you'll then have to factor in the price. Seats range from €92 to €276, including fees, depending on the sector. The stalls will be divided into two groups: €221 for the one furthest from the stage and €276 for the one closest to it.
The documentary
Those left out can console themselves by watching the documentary "Don't Look Back in Anger" by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, presented at the last Venice Film Festival, dedicated to the 2025 concerts. And those who, looking at the list of cities, were disappointed not to have seen Milan, considering that until a few days ago there were rumors of two dates at San Siro (at least according to The Sun and its sources on the tour organization), should know that it certainly wouldn't be the first time a new date has popped up in the running. For Liam and Noel, therefore, the Meazza is still "Definitely Maybe."
