The politics of Sardinia mourns Giosuè Ligios, a historical exponent of the Christian Democrats, who died at the age of 93 in his home in Nuoro.

Originally from Bitti, from 1964 to 1989 he held various positions in public institutions. In 1964 he was elected president of the Province of Nuoro and in 1969 he became regional councilor of Sardinia, then holding the position of councilor for general affairs in 1970.

In 1972 and then again in 1976 he was elected senator and was undersecretary of the Ministry of the Treasury in the Andreotti government. He was elected in the 1979 European elections, and then reconfirmed in 1984.
