The autumn season of shows at the Eliseo theater in Nuoro (Ten) yesterday began to experience a week full of strong emotions. Beautiful, and with a worthy setting for the public, "Viagem Sentimental", a project by the choreographer Francisco Camacho, a Lusitanian identity card but strong ties with the island where he lives for long periods of the year.

The show (co-produced by Eira and Sardegna teatro) is the result of a work that has seen the involvement of artists from Nuoro. Interpreters and creators at the same time Antonio Delpiano, Davide Dessolis, Donatella Cabras (who guaranteed choreographic and didactic collaboration) the same Camacho, Mina Parodo and Valeria Basso. The leitmotif of the piece is the territory, analyzed by the choreographer who observes it, studies it and dissects it, capturing its peculiar aspects, linked above all to parties and rites, and perceiving the moods of its people.

The project, made possible also thanks to the contribution of the Direcção Geral das Artes - Ministério da Cultura Portuguese, started with a workshop in October 2020, and yesterday it returned to Nuoro for the final phase and staging. Perfectly successful for the satisfaction of the public and the coordinator of the Ten, Paola Masala.

"We thank all the 'bearers of knowledge' who - says Masala - have given Francisco Camacho their gaze on the territory and their inhabitants. Among them Luigi Fassi of the MAN_Museo d'Arte of the Province of Nuoro, Vanna Fois of Spazio Ilisso, Gavino Poddighe, Simone Ciferni of Lollovers, Coremendula, Donatello Tore, Mancaspazio, Madriche Cultural Association, Francesco Pirisi, Silvio Obinu of Lariso Cooperativa Sociale Onlus ".

To build the imagery of the show, the choreographer appropriated some signs translated by artisans and artists from Nuoro. And so he welcomed the audience in the hall: “Let's make a pact. You tell me that Nuoro does not exist, that it is a land invented just for me, an exclusive matrix. That the availability and kindness around have me as the only recipient, that all the crows have abandoned this nest. In return, I promise to activate all my senses, touch things, rub them and absorb every possible smell, taste the salty and sweet that is offered here, open my ears to sounds, voices, what they say, what they want to communicate to me even if they do not express it, let my gaze wander through the volumes of the buildings, through the surrounding nature, through the most present colors and the most imperceptible points of color, focus and blur, decline in another way to look and hope to get closer to the beat of the earth, in this oblique position. And in that way, I hope to come up with an experience that challenges every person sitting in the audience. The full feeling of this trip to Nuoro will always be unattainable, but in the end this Nuoro is mine alone and showing it is the only possible counterpart in this pact ”.
