A museum that has always been open to the world. Contemporary art dictates the line, acts as a glue. This time it welcomes you among those rooms steeped in Sardinian art, among the masterpieces of Nivola, Maria Lai, Sironi and Delitala. It is here, in the spaces of via Satta, that the Man of Nuoro renews its appointment with literature in the month of May. BiblioMANia starts again on May 2nd, a consolidated event which this year presents a calendar of events with important guests, such as the journalist-writer Giovanni Floris or Mario Botta. Meanwhile, the writer Silvia Bencivelli will be there to break the ice, on Thursday at 6pm, with the book “Doubt and desire. Eva Mameli Calvino”. Presents Chiara Alessi, with the participation of the cartoonist Manuelle Mureddu.

NOT JUST ART – It is the approach that characterizes a reality that wants to be a cultural beacon, not only for central Sardinia. The Man communicates with the territory, proudly waving its desire for interaction. «The series of events linked to BiblioMANia promises to be a crossroads of ideas, stories and inspirations», assures the director of the Barbagia museum structure, Chiara Gatti. Thus, after the departure on May 2nd, the exhibition will continue on Tuesday 7th with Francesco Pala's book, “Lenin's Last Journey”. The evening presented by Federico Pietranera will take those present back to the autumn of 1942, in Siberia, for an adventure that touches the chords of utopia and morality, bringing to light complex and profoundly human historical dynamics. On May 17, however, it will be the turn of Mario Botta, that giant of contemporary architecture who will share his itinerary through a century of sacred architecture, with "Il cielo in terra". Armando Besio will present.

GIOVANNI FLORIS – Origins from Nuoro, very deep bond with Barbagia, although his daily working life is entirely Roman. On May 24th the journalist Giovanni Floris will arrive in Nuoro for BiblioMANia. The La7 presenter will present the book "L'essenziale" at 12, with the director of Man Chiara Gatti next to him. He will illustrate his literary journey to discover the essential, reflecting on the power of books to transform and define our existence.

CINEMA – Books but not only. In May the Nuoro museum also hosts the Bisiones film festival , curated by director Francesco Pirisi. After breaking the ice last September 27th with Enrico Pau's film, “The Shadow of Fire”, the new appointment with Sardinian cinema is on May 11th. On that date, “A Look at the Earth”, a work by Peter Marcias, will be screened. A profound examination of Sardinian documentary cinema, starting from Fiorenzo Serra's 1965 classic. A film that reflects on the power of images and the narration of Sardinian history and culture. Then, “Bentu” will arrive on May 18th. A drama by Salvatore Mereu set in the Sardinian fields, where the protagonist fights against time and nature waiting for the wind. Finally, closing on May 30th with “Fiore gemello”, by Laura Luchetti. A tale of escape and love through the landscapes of the island.
