The dismissal of coach Luca Rusani came like a bolt from the blue in the Nuorese household. At least on the sporting front, where the team is traveling at full speed at the top of the Promotion championship standings. Less surprising, however, is what happened in the extra field last week, with the "yellow" of the firecrackers exploding inside the changing rooms .

It was the club itself that clarified the decision, with a public note: «Nuorese Calcio 1930 acted to protect its image and credibility» , we read in the press release. «This is because from the moment we took office in August, the objectives we set ourselves were not only of a sporting nature but also linked to the history and reputation of one of Sardinia's historic clubs and to that credibility that absolutely needed to be rediscovered after some complicated seasons ».

Then a decidedly more explanatory sentence, which leaves little doubt about what happened: «It is in this spirit that the management decided not to compromise on behaviors that absolutely cannot be classified as pranks , what happened on that day is a bad page that we have decided not only to move on but to definitively archive. The Nuorese that we have imagined", continues the club, "must be one of sporting results and the enthusiasm of its people, of initiatives for the children of our city and for those who are less fortunate, we have worked intensely in these first months to go in this direction and in this direction we intend to continue."

Finally, the decision-making process that led to the exoneration: «The episode of December 21st» , Nuorese further states, «was hard to digest : even ending up on the national front pages for events that with our values, regarding whoever mentioned them without explaining them, they have nothing to do with them. We wanted to take the necessary time to reflect but then we arrived with conviction at this decision which protects the glorious name of Nuorese Calcio, it's sorry that someone wants to minimize what happened, we didn't want to do it because our Nuorese is a completely different thing and this episode must serve as a lesson not so much to those who left but to those who remained, us first."
