The only Sardinian basketball player who has taken part in an Olympics becomes the team manager of the Sardinian national basketball team. Nunzia Serradimigni has been called by the Sardu National Isport Federation as a fundamental step in developing an island selection.

Daughter of Umberto (she played with Torres and Cagliari) and older sister of Roberta (another talent of the national basketball team), Nunzia from Sassari then played in Algida Rome and from there she took off for the national team which in 1980 took part in the Olympic Games in Moscow. Nunzia won two Ronchetti Cups: in Rome in 1983 and in Milan in 1991. After becoming a coach, she also coached Marco Spissu (who in turn arrived at the Olympics) and was also the team manager of the women's youth selections.

Nunzia Serradimigni said: “I thank FINS and Basketball Manager Laura Fois for entrusting me with an assignment that I welcome with great enthusiasm and that gratifies me deeply. I am proud to be able to represent my land in the basketball field, and I can't wait to make my experience available to all the athletes who will be part of the National team. During my career as a player I have always been proud of my origins, feeling an innate sense of belonging to my Island. Now I will try to transfer this same feeling to those who will wear the colors of the Sardinian selection. I am sure that this project will give an important boost to our movement, offering our young people new opportunities for discussion on an international level ".
