An ancient manuscript by the French astrologer Michel de Nostredame, better known under the pseudonym of Nostradamus , stolen in an unspecified period from the General Library of the Barnabite Historical Study Center in Rome , has finally made its return home to the capital.

This is the work in Latin entitled " Profetie di Michele Nostradamo ".

The investigations were initiated by the Carabinieri of the Antiques Section of the TPC Operational Department and after the volume was on sale in a German auction house , which put it up for auction in early May last year.

On one of the pages of the text published on the auction house website, the presence of a stamp of the “Biblioteca SS. Blasi Cairoli del Urbe ”, merged, in 1991, into the Generalate of the Barnabite Fathers. Through a request for assistance sent by the Italian judicial authorities to the German one, the auction was blocked and the volume was seized and kept in the Stuttgart police offices, pending its repatriation.

This morning the return to the head of the library, Father Rodrigo Alfonso Nilo Palominos.
