Meeting at Palazzo Chigi between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, president of Fratelli d'Italia, and Deputy Prime Ministers Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, leaders of Forza Italia and Lega.
The summit was held this morning, in the midst of the tussle over candidacies for the next regional elections scheduled in Sardinia, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Piedmont and Umbria.

However, a denial came from Palazzo Chigi: the summit between Meloni, Salvini and Tajani had as its subject the topic of immigration and the meeting was also attended by the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantovano .
"In Sardinia the candidate will be decided by the three secretaries, we are for the unity of the coalition therefore we will work to find a solution that satisfies everyone", explains the Minister of Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo, a member of Forza Italia, confirming that the three leaders do not they still took stock of the regionals. Regarding the candidatures, he explained, "as far as I know they haven't met yet".
