This time it's the centre-right's turn to chase. Compared to the center-left and the Five Star Movement - now very close to a synthesis on the deputy Alessandra Todde - the other pole is still hostage to negotiations that do not take a precise direction. And it will be like this until the next national coalition table scheduled after November 4th.

The outgoing Christian Solinas (Psd'Az-Lega) and the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu (Brothers of Italy) are the main contenders in this match for the candidacy for the presidency of the Region.

The alternative

The first is supported by Matteo Salvini's latest opening («the team that wins cannot be changed, I reiterate my support for Solinas») at the Lega Festival in Fertilia, while at the FdI convention at the Lido Truzzu said he was available if the proposal arrived. Solinas, for his part, has never declared that he has the right to run for the presidency for the second time, but he has always claimed the need for continuity, and therefore for the coalition to remain Sardinian-led.

The same concept was reiterated two days ago to the Sardinian Union by the Sardinian president Antonio Moro: «The Psd'Az is a founding member of the coalition. Membership has a decisive feature: the leadership of the Sardinians." This is equivalent to saying «Solinas re-nominated», but not necessarily. In short, if the conditions were not there, the party of the Four Moors - through the voice of Solinas himself - could also name another name, indicate a figure perhaps not organic to the party but who in any case shares its values and principles. A name that, however, is appreciated by the outgoing governor. At the moment there are no rumors about the identity of the candidates. But, this is certain, the hypothesis is in play.
