As in 2022 in Porto Cervo, this time in Tortolì, the new location for the 2025 edition, New Zealanders Paddon and Hudson won the Rally Terra Sarda. The two-time European champion, who had won two other rallies in the past two weeks, in Australia and New Zealand, also climbed to the top step of the podium in Ogliastra, in the event organized by Porto Cervo Racing and counting towards the Zone 10 Rally Cup, the Aci Sport Sardinia Delegation Regional Championship, and the international Ter Series and Ter Tour European Rally series.
Paddon-Hudson, in a Hyundai i20 N Rally2, set the fastest times in the Santa Maria Navarrese and Lanusei 1 special stages and completed and won the 13th Rally Terra Sarda in 48'41"6. Second place went to Andrea Pisano and Salvatore Musselli, representing Magliona Motorsport, in a Skoda Fabia Rally2, who finished at 1'17"3, preceding Auro Siddi and Giuseppe Maccioni (Skoda Fabia Rally2, at 2'19"1), who made their mark in the last special stage, Lanusei 2. Fourth overall were Corsican Galeani-Dini (Hyundai i20 N Rally2, at 3'14"8), ahead of Cocco-Deiana (Skoda Fabia Evo Rally2, at 4'00"5). Eighth overall and first among the "two-wheel drive" were Cuccheddu-Tocco (Peugeot 208 Rally4, at 5'54”8).
Some of the weekend's key players are missing from the final top 10. Starting with the 2022 WRC2 world champion, Finn Emil Lindholm, who, driving a Skoda Fabia RS Rally with Reeta Hamalainen in the right-hand seat, had been fastest since the shakedown and, after finishing in the lead on Saturday, maintained the lead until the last special stage. But his "long" run on Lanusei 2 cost him over 6 minutes of delay, a steep price paid for dropping from first to 13th overall. Then, after failing to enter parc fermé at the end of the race, Lindholm was penalized with exclusion.
A mistake in Sunday's second special stage, resulting in a spin and the subsequent loss of significant time, forced Marino Gessa and Salvatore Pusceddu (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2) to retire. Valentino Ledda and Claudio Mele, who were fourth overall in their Renault Clio Rally3, also retired due to a mistake in the final special stage. They had no championship ambitions, having already secured qualification for the national final of the Messina CRZ after winning their class in the Emilia Romagna CRZ.
