The countdown begins. New Year's Eve is approaching, with dozens of concerts and events in squares across the island to welcome the arrival of 2026.
"Sardinia is poised to become the most important region in Italy for the number of New Year's Eve events," says regional tourism councilor Franco Cuccureddu, who has funded the island's end-of-year events, which are expected to attract over 200,000 people, with €3 million.
And it all starts this evening in Assemini, where a young idol, Ghali, is coming. Tomorrow, in Alghero, it's Raf's turn. The day after tomorrow, Kid Yugi and Low-Red will take center stage. Also on December 30th, in Carbonia, Umberto Smaila will be performing: a starter for New Year's Eve, starring Jimmy Sax.
The capital
In Cagliari, the city center is transformed into a sprawling stage. The main event will once again be the stage in Piazza Yenne, where Giusy Ferreri will take center stage. Before the Sicilian-born singer, Mimì will perform. At midnight, masked rapper Myss Keta will perform.
The other squares
Alghero, the city that invented New Year's Eve on the island 30 years ago, is banking on the dance music of Gabry Ponte for New Year's Eve. The highlight in the north of the island, for many, is Max Pezzali, who will headline in Sassari. Marco Mengoni (with Lazza) will headline in Olbia. In La Maddalena, Fausto Leali will take center stage, while in Castelsardo, J-Ax, the more "noble" half of Articolo 31 (Dj Jad will play in Capoterra), will share the stage with Anna Pepe.
In Arzachena, midnight awaits with Achille Lauro, in Nuoro with Emis Killa, in Tortolì with Benji and Fede, in Bitti with Dolcenera (along with Istentales). In Dorgali, Big Mama is present. The island remains a favorite destination for Fedez: he'll be in Oristano for New Year's Eve. In Iglesias, toasts are with Mannarino, and in Sant'Antioco, Elio e le Storie Tese are ready to entertain the crowd with an irreverent show.
