Marco Tedde (Forza Italia) and Antonio Moro (Psd'Az) are pushing for direct aid to airlines , a system that "the regional Tourism assessor appreciated", the two politicians explain in a note. "A system introduced in the past legislature by the centre-right-Sardinian government and approved by the regional council with an allocation of 30 million within the infamous "connected to the Budget" that had registered so much opposition, also on this point, from the political forces that then sat on the opposition benches and that today are in the majority that governs the Region", underline Tedde and Moro.

"For the sake of truth and for the respect due to those who have always shown a spirit of collaboration to help improve air connections to and from the Island, we reiterate our gratitude to the University of Sassari and Enac, for the decisive contribution offered during the drafting of the regulations that meant that Sardinia was the first Region in Italy to introduce direct aid to carriers. Halving airport costs (of the departure and arrival airport) represents, in fact, a concrete opportunity because, in compliance with community regulations (as certified by the recent green light from the European Union) it is possible to plan adequate and continuous air connections (therefore not only in the summer season) thus providing answers to the needs of the tourism sector and also to the mobility needs of Sardinian citizens, especially in those airports, such as Alghero, where the seasonality of the flight offer is more conditioning".

Then a suggestion . «We also want to remind Cuccureddu that to extend the season it is not enough to provide additional flights, but it is necessary to "fill them" by attracting new tourist flows that use these flights. Enriching the offer with a program of cultural, musical, artistic events, food and wine festivals with identifying characteristics and conference events, planned and advertised in advance», conclude the two political exponents.
