"Qualcosa da dire" is the album's final track, addressing the challenges of communicating and building strong relationships, but it could also be used as a slogan. After over thirty years of musical activity, guitarist and singer Mauro Aresu still has something to say through music, and he does so with an album bearing his name, featuring six songs, some pulled from the drawer, others rearranged. The album opens with "Lady Black," followed by "Il Pescatore," "Reflusso," "Blue Monn," "Baby Blues," and, of course, "Qualcosa da dire."
Born in Lanusei but adopted by Sassari, where he has been working since the 1990s, Mauro Aresu began playing guitar at 13 and, at 16, formed the rock band Poltergeist, with which he played and sang. In 1992, he created the Bau Bau Baby Blues Band. The Hoochie Coochie Band and the Bau Bau Orchestra are further milestones in a never-ending career that, while shifting between genres, remains firmly rooted in blues and rock.
The songs were recorded at Paolo Poddighe's palom@studio. He is accompanied on the tracks by the Bau Bau Orchestra: Stefano Alterio (drums), Cristiano Caria Basso, Paolo Loi, Martino Roggio and Bachisio Ulgheri (guitars), Paolo Poddighe (keyboards and piano), Andrea Polo (trumpet), Enzo Poddighe, Emanuele De Palmas and Cristiano Bianco (sax), vocals and backing vocals (Gianna Dettori and Marcella Dettori).
