Luciano Spalletti's Italy reached the Nations League quarter-finals, beating Lukaku's Belgium 1-0 in Brussels thanks to a goal from Tonali in the 11th minute of the first half.

It was the penultimate match of the group stage: the next one, on Sunday at San Siro, will be against France (who drew 0-0 with Israel).

A draw will be enough for the Azzurri to secure first place in their group.

"The pitch got heavy in the second half," said Coach Spalletti at the end, "and in these conditions you have to keep the ball. We made some mistakes, but it went well."
